How the platform fits together

Sportstech Tasmania connects sport, research and ICT. Each part feeds the next, and the engine room decides which pilots go ahead.

Island Intelligence
Tasmania's public data, down to each council. Built by a student Capstone team.
The Exchange
Where sport, research and ICT meet. The next one is in March 2027.
Home Ground
Student projects that give young people a reason to stay.

Island Intelligence: what a student team can build

Island Intelligence is a University of Tasmania ICT Capstone project, built by six students in one semester. It's an example of the work student teams take on through Home Ground.

Dozens of agencies publish figures on Tasmania, each on their own website. Island Intelligence pulls them into one place: 108 measures from 21 official sources, for the state, its 4 regions and all 29 councils.

Home Ground: a two-sided exchange

Students are there to learn. Your organisation gets work it can use, and gives time and coaching in return. Both sides sign a compact that sets this out.
